This research is the systematic study of the semantic features of the noun in two unrelated languages. The different approaches and principles of the semantic classification of nouns in the English and Karakalpak languages have been investigated. The main novelty of this research is the fact that all the semantic categories of nouns: common and proper, concrete and abstract, collective and individual nouns in both languages have been compared and analyzed. A thorough investigation of the semantic structure of nouns enabled us to reveal structural-semantic and functional-semantic peculiarities of English and Karakalpak nouns. A contrastive analysis of both languages proved that there are both similarities and differences of nouns in English and Karakalpak languages.  en-US
