Systemic scleroderma (SSD) is an autoimmune disease, which is based on generalized microangiopathy and activation of the processes fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. Most patients develop visceral complications, which usually cause death. SSD are often diagnosed late, when pathological changes in organs are irreversible, and treatment is less effective. At the same time, the results of a large study showed that the mortality rate of patients with SSD reaches 68 per 1000 people per year. So, timely diagnosis of SSD is a difficult, but very important task for a doctor.en-US
