dc.descriptionThis paper looked at the problems facing the implementation of special needs curriculum in Nigeria. Inadequate funding, inadequate special needs teachers, inadequate infrastructural facilities, shortage instructional materials, poor training and retraining programme, corruption and poor supervision were identified as the problems facing the implementation of special needs curriculum in Nigeria. Secondary and primary data were adopted for the paper presentation. We sourced for the secondary data on internet and print materials. The paper concluded by recommending the following; government should increase the funding special needs education, employ more qualified teachers, provide adequate infrastructural facilities, provide adequate instructional materials, ensure constant training and retraining programme for special needs teachers, ensure effective accountability in the funds released for administration of special needs programme and improve the supervision of special needs programme in Nigeria.en-US
