This paper discussed the factors responsible for projects abandonment in public Universities in Nigeria. Primary and secondary data were employed in the paper. The data were sorted from print resources and online resources. The paper concluded that poor funding, corruption, inflation, fall in national revenue, insecurity, political instability, weak school administrators, poor monitoring and evaluation, poor planning and lack of continuation in government policies were the factors responsible for projects abandonment in public Universities in Nigeria. Increment in the funding of public universities and other measures were recommended as way forward for sustainable facilities development in public universities in Nigeria.en-US
