Abstract
Description
The author of the article claims that in the second half of the twentieth century, archaeological and scientific research of Central Asia was carried out, including the archaeological study of the Zeravshan Valley. The article presents the material about the archaeological works and research of O.V.Obelchenko on the burial mounds in the lower reaches of Zeravshan. The excavations of the burial grounds gave insights mainly about the culture of ordinary members of society in a wide chronological range from the VII century BC to the VII century AD. The author notes the archaeological findings discovered by O.V.Obelchenko. However, in addition to the merits and achievements of O.V.Obelchenko in scientific theoretical and practical research, errors in conducting archaeological excavations and research are shown.
