Abstract
Description
Myocardial infarction (MI), more commonly known as heart attack is the most prevalent form of cardiovascular death in most countries of the world. MI occurs when one or more of the coronary arteries supplying blood to the heart are occluded, consequently depriving a section of the heart of oxygenated blood and nutrients, inevitably leading to necrosis of the myocardium. Curcumin is a polyphenolic compound which is mainly extracted from turmeric rhizome (Curcuma longa). The health benefits of curcumin are well-documented; specifically, curcumin exhibits anticancer, antiviral, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, hypoglycemic, and ant rheumatic properties. Nanotechnology may represent a part of the future technology in drug production, since the use of nanoparticles for drug delivery purposes seems not only to enhance curcumin permeability and increased absorptioncurcumin nanoparticles demonstrated to reduce inflammation and serum oxidative marks in the case of adrenaline-induced MI. the administration of adrenaline in 2 constative dose 2 mg/kg. B.w. showed high lipids peroxidation (MDA) The activation of Glutathione-S-Transferase (GST) were decreasing significantly than in the negative group. Protection with curcumin nanoparticle showed improve cardiac tissue damage by decline the serum levels MDA and significant improvement GST. The results showed protection by curcumin nanoparticle 300mg/kg.bw had beast significant at (P≤0.05) in comparisons curcumin nanoparticle 200mg/kg.b.w. groups.
