Description
The principal plays an important role in building school culture. Effective school culture has a positive impact on the formation of student character so that it can be used as a school advantage. This study aims to analyze the role and principals in building a school culture as a superior school. The approach used is qualitative with 26 teachers and 123 students as respondents. Data collection techniques using interviews, questionnaires, observation and documentation. The results of the study can be seen from the presentation of table number 93% of the role of the principal of MI Muhammadiyah 1 Jombang in building school culture by implementing functions as educators, managers, administrators, supervisors, leaders, innovators and motivators. 80% The implication of principals in building school culture has a positive impact on student behavior. The findings are a framework chart of the principal's role based on theory and research results on school culture
